Privacy Policy
City Drones is a browser-based flight game operated by Kingsbridge Consultancy ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.
1. What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address — only if you sign in | To create your account and send you a one-time sign-in link ("magic link"). You can play without signing in. |
| Game progress & settings — drones, gems, preferences | Stored in your browser and, if you're signed in, on our server so your wallet follows you between devices. |
| Pilot name, drone, position & run times | Multiplayer and leaderboards. This information is public — other players see it in-flight and on leaderboards. |
| Anonymous usage events — e.g. which city or mode you flew | To understand what's popular and improve the game. These use a random device identifier and are not linked to your email, and we do not store your IP address with them. |
| Purchase records — pack, amount, time, Stripe IDs | To credit your gems and keep accounting/tax records. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number or full payment details. |
2. How we use your data
To run your account and gem wallet; to deliver gameplay, multiplayer and leaderboards; to process gem purchases; to understand and improve the game; to prevent cheating, fraud and abuse; and to send you sign-in links and essential service messages. We do not send marketing email, and we do not sell your personal data.
3. Legal bases (EU/UK users)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (your account, wallet and purchases); legitimate interests (multiplayer, anonymous analytics, security and abuse prevention); and consent where specifically requested. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small set of service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Google — the cities are streamed from Google's Photorealistic 3D Tiles; your flight requests go to Google to load the map data (Google Privacy Policy).
- Stripe — processes gem payments and handles your card details directly (Stripe Privacy Policy).
- Postmark — delivers our sign-in and service emails.
- Cloudflare — hosts the game and provides security and delivery.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the service.
5. Cookies & local storage
We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember your settings and progress, and — if you sign in — a session token to keep you signed in. Clearing your browser storage removes this local data.
6. How long we keep it
Account and wallet data is kept while your account exists. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting and tax obligations. Anonymous analytics are kept in aggregate. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we must keep records by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected]. We don't sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
8. Children
City Drones is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required in the EU/UK). If you are under that age, please don't use the game or provide an email address. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
9. Security & international transfers
The game runs over HTTPS; sign-in and session tokens are stored only as hashes; and payments go through Stripe. Our providers (Google, Stripe, Postmark, Cloudflare) may process data in other countries, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
10. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; the "effective" date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be posted here. Questions or requests: [email protected].
